C: Excuse me?
S: Yes, May I help you?
C: I bought this pair of jeans at your online store last week but I found it’s too small. Can you replace it with size L?
S: Would you please show me the receipt.
C: (Action: show Ako the receipt)
S: Thank you. I will check the stock, please wait a minute.
(5 sec.)
S: Oh, sorry, there is no L-size in our stock, but I find it from other branches. So, I will ask the store for an L-size jeans. Would you please come back a week later?
C: No! I cannot wait for that long! I need it tomorrow!
S: (thinking face) Um… if you don’t mind, I can replace the L-size jeans on display with you. What do you think?
C: Okay. Once it is new I am fine with that. Thank you.
S: You are welcome.
Ako and May, thanks for the roleplay. May thanks for the help.
You did a good job, Ako! Next time, try to memorise the dialogue so that you don't need to look down and focus on the interlocutor's (対話相手)face. I liked the part May was a bit difficult and Ako looked a bit distressed! It was realistic. It was nice that you two had agreement in the end. Nicely done!
Ako, you did a great job in the roleplay. This time I led the conversation, and next time you can use this method too: write down what you want to say, practice it a few times, correct it, and then record it. Don't be afraid to speak English, the more you practice, the better you can speak. Keep it up!
